Then the travel information service OnTheMove is for you. It’s a fully customisable travel information service that provides information to travellers prior to their journey, about road and driving conditions, incidents and road works taking place on New Zealand’s state highways.

Let us know where and when you travel on the state highway network and OnTheMove will provide you with tailored email notifications for those routes and/or areas during the time periods you specify.

The emails will inform you about what is happening and advise of any associated impacts on road users, in addition to providing any relevant advice or extra information such as any known detour routes. Updates via email will be provided automatically as key details change, provided they change during the time period you’ve subscribed to.

Minor incidents and general traffic congestion won’t be sent out as an alert. Only major events that may disrupt state highway traffic or require caution will be reported to subscribers. Some weeks you won’t receive any alerts and others, particularly in winter, you may receive a lot. It’s all about giving you a heads-up before you travel about significant incidents along the state highway network so you can make smart travel choices – perhaps delaying your journey or using an alternative route if it’s an option.
